This Privacy Policy describes how RD Urban Green DBA Harvest Hub (‘Company’, ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Harvest Hub website (harvesthubmarketplace.com) and the Harvest Hub garden planning application (harvest-hub.ai).

We believe your data belongs to you. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not serve ads. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Harvest Hub is a free garden planning and tracking application for home growers. A paid subscription tier (Garden Plus) is available with additional features. We do not currently operate a marketplace.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you create an account or use the app, you may provide:

• Name and email address (required for account creation)

• USDA hardiness zone and general location (used for zone-aware planting guidance — we do not collect precise GPS coordinates)

• Garden data: growing spaces, plant names, varieties, growth stages, care logs, harvest records, and journal entries

• Photos you upload of your plants or garden spaces

• Descriptions of plant health issues submitted to the Diagnosis feature

• Payment information if you subscribe to Garden Plus (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store your card details)

Information collected automatically

When you use our website or application, we may collect:

• Browser type, device type, and operating system

• IP address (used for security and approximate location for zone guidance)

• Pages visited, features used, and time spent in the app (usage analytics)

• Referring URL (how you arrived at our site)

• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect precise GPS location

• We do not collect information from minors under 13

• We do not collect financial data beyond what is necessary to process a subscription payment

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Harvest Hub app and website

• Generate personalized planting plans, companion planting suggestions, and zone-aware care tasks based on your garden data

• Power the AI Diagnosis feature using your plant descriptions and photos

• Send you account-related emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts)

• Send you optional garden care reminders if you have enabled notifications

• Analyse aggregate, anonymised usage patterns to improve the product

• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to serve you advertisements. We do not use your garden data to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers

We use third-party providers to help operate our services. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide their service to us and may include:

• Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers

• Payment processors (for Garden Plus subscriptions)

• Email delivery services (for transactional emails and reminders)

• Analytics tools (anonymised and aggregated usage data only)

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Harvest Hub, our users, or others.

Business transfers

If Harvest Hub is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and a prominent notice on our website before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

With your consent

We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit prior consent.

Your Garden Data

Your garden data — growing spaces, plant records, harvest logs, journal entries, photos, and health records — belongs to you. We store it to provide our services. We do not analyse it for commercial purposes, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles for targeting.

You can export your complete garden data at any time from within the app (Profile → Export Garden Data). You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at information@harvesthubmarketplace.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep you logged in to your account (session cookies)

• Remember your preferences

• Understand how visitors use our website (analytics cookies)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some functionality, including staying logged in to the app.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not allow ad networks to place cookies on our site.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and garden data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (for example, records of subscription payments, which we retain for seven years as required by tax law).

Anonymised, aggregated data — from which no individual can be identified — may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include:

• Encryption of data in transit using TLS

• Encrypted storage of passwords

• Access controls limiting who within our team can access user data

• Regular review of our security practices

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Harvest Hub account.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information:

• Right to Delete: you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions

• Right to Opt Out of Sale: we do not sell your personal information. You do not need to opt out.

• Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

Users Outside the United States

Harvest Hub is operated from the United States. If you access our services from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

We do not currently offer a localised service for EU or UK residents and do not make representations about GDPR compliance. If you are an EU or UK resident and have questions about your data, please contact us at information@harvesthubmarketplace.com.

Third-Party Links

Our website and app may contain links to third-party websites, including blog content that references external sources. This Privacy Policy applies only to Harvest Hub’s own services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site.

AI Features and Your Data

Harvest Hub uses AI to power several features, including personalised planting plans, companion plant suggestions, zone-aware task generation, and the Plant Diagnosis tool. When you use these features, relevant garden data (such as your plant’s growth stage, zone, and described symptoms) is processed to generate a response.

We do not use your personal garden data to train third-party AI models. AI-generated guidance is for informational purposes only — see Section 8 of our Terms and Conditions for details on the limitations of growing guidance.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on our website and, where applicable, by email, at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

The date at the top of this page reflects when this policy was last updated. We encourage you to review it periodically.
